Wentworth Region

A member of the Far West Joint Organisation, Wentworth Shire Council is the local government authority for the Wentworth region.  Wentworth’s location at the junction of  Australia’s two largest rivers, the Murray and the Darling in south western NSW, is iconic.

The agriculture, forestry and fishing industries are the greatest contributors to the region’s economy.  Strategically located in the gateway to Outback NSW, tourism is a major contributor to the region’s economy, attracting more than 300,000 visitors each year.
